The North East Waste and Resource Recovery Group (North East WRRG) have completed community consultation for the draft North East Waste and Resource Recovery Implementation Plan.

Community consultation was held in 7 local government areas throughout the north east region in May 2016.  Provision for other feedback opportunities were also made available during the consultation period, which officially ended on 13 June 2016.

North East WRRG would like to thank all of their partners and stakeholders for their input and participation during the development and consultation of the draft Waste and Resource Recovery Implementation Plan (north east implementation plan). North East WRRG is now in the process of integrating this feedback into the final draft of the north east implementation plan to ensure objectives of the north east implementation plan are met.

The final draft will be submitted to the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change by 14 December 2016. Once the draft plan is finalised it will be integrated with the Statewide Waste and Resource Recovery Infrastructure Plan, with the aim of developing a coordinated statewide waste and resource recovery system, ensuring Victoria has a first class integrated system.

North East WRRG is looking forward to continuing to work with all our stakeholders in the future as they deliver the north east implementation plan.
