National Bin Network (NBN)

The National Bin Network (NBN) Project was ran in 2013 throughout the North East region with funding provided through the provision of Away From Home recycling infrastructure. The National Bin Network objective was to improve recycling for residents and visitors in North East Victoria.

HISTORY

The National Bin Network is a $100 million, 5 year industry funded program to reduce litter and increase recycling of packaging materials nationally.  It brings together the beverage industry, packaging suppliers, government, business and the community to work collaboratively to achieve world class packaging recycling and litter reduction. The NBN is modelled as an option currently being considered by COAG’s Standing Council on Environment and Water.
