The SEED Website has now been upgraded – same address and still lots of information to support Environmental Education in NE schools – just a whole lot easier to read and manage.  Check it out:

We have also developed a new SEED unit called “Making your Own School Worm Farm”.  The unit will help to develop good recycling attitudes and understandings of how helpful worms can be in processing our waste.

There are three Student Environment Days planned for 2015.  The first was in the Indigo Shire in Yackandandah on March 12th. The Sports Complex provided an idyllic venue for this event with its bush land, creek, shaded and open areas and indoor facilities.  The day was attended by around 150 students from 5 schools. There were some great workshops presented by Habitat Protection and Enhancement, Landcare, North East Water, State Emergency Service and the Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre as well as presenters from the Indigo Shire, North East Waste & Resource Recovery Group and North East Catchment Management Authority.  The feedback from participants was wonderful and I would like to thank the Indigo Shire for their support of this event and for the awesome workshops they presented.  The event expects all its participants to be Rubbish Free, Water Wise and Sun Smart – which they did well.  Use the Student Environment Days tab on the SEED website to check out what the students did.

The other events for this year are:

  • August 6th – Wodonga
  • October 20th – Wangaratta  – this event is already BOOKED OUT
