Benalla Student Environment Day – Foreshore Park – Thursday 28th April

BENALLA SED 13-7Around 150 students will be attending the Benalla Student Environment Day to be held at Foreshore Park on April 28th.  Through the SEED program the day is being jointly funded by North East Waste & Resource Recovery Group and North East Catchment Management Authority and sponsored locally by Benalla Rural City.

There will be a number of experts from various local natural resource management groups presenting to the primary school students, including a team of year 9 students from Benalla College (who will be doing this for the first time).  On the day, students will experience learning in a hands-on way about things such as Water Bugs, Worm Farms, Recycling, Renewable Energy and Circuits, Waste Water Systems, Skulls, Skins and Bones, Cultural Landscapes and all about the Web of Life.  Participants will also live in a Resource Smart way by participating in a Rubbish Free Lunch and refilling their water bottles at the venue.
