John Dahlenburg new EO

John Dahlenburg, Executive Officer North East WRRG

Greetings to you all.  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. It’s my second week in the job and after many years away from the waste sector I’m excited to be back working in this field again.

I commenced my career in the environment field in education before I moved into research at Monash University’s Centre for Innovation in Waste Management, then worked in waste minimisation for Nillumbik Shire Council before finally ending up at EcoRecycle Victoria (one of the precursor organisations which became Sustainability Victoria).  I then moved to Sydney and worked for the NSW Government in the areas of: water sensitive urban design, catchment management, water quality and climate change.  My final role before arriving at North East WRRG was working in sustainability for Campbelltown City Council.

I grew up in the North East and am excited to be back in the area and to be working again in the waste and resource recovery space.  I am looking forward to meeting with you all over the coming months and working together to protect and improve the environmental outcomes of our beautiful region.
