North East WRRG Board – New Chair & Local Government Directors

New Chair and Local Government Directors appointed to North East Waste and Resource Recovery Group Board

Announced by Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change the Hon Lily D’Ambrosio

On the 5th of May 2017, the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change the Hon Lily D’Ambrosio announced the local government Directors and new Chair for the North East Waste and Resource Recovery Group (North East WRRG).  The new Chair of the Board is Ms Veronica Schilling from Benalla Rural City Council.  Ms Schilling was previously a Director of North East WRRG and has been reappointed for another four-year term as Chair.  The two new Directors also announced are: Mr Alan Clark from Rural City of Wangaratta and Councillor Peter Olver from Mansfield Shire Council.  Ms Louise Perrin representing the Mt Buller/Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management was also reappointed as a Director.  All these appointments are for a four-year term.

New Chair Ms Veronica Schilling said “being selected by the Minister to become the North East WRRG’s new chair was a real honour and privilege considering the quality and commitment of previous position holders, Mr Anthony Griffiths and Cr Don Chambers”  Ms Schilling also said “it is a very exciting time to become Chair as the organisation’s 10 year Implementation Plan has just been submitted to the Minister for approval” and “I’m looking forward to working our partner organisations to reduce waste and improve resource recovery in the beautiful North East Region of Victoria”

Ms Schilling also thanked the two directors leaving the Board, Cr Ron Janas (Alpine Shire) and Rodney Roscholler (Rural City of Wangaratta) for their hard work, dedication and thoughtful insight over the past four years on the Board.
