Recycled household waste builds noise walls 

Noise walls made from 75% recycled plastic have been erected along the new Mordialloc Freeway.

Delivered by Major Roads Projects Victoria (MRPV), the revolutionary panels use 570 tonnes of plastic waste – equivalent to kerbside plastic waste collected from 25,000 Victorian households in a year.

Ecologiq Director Tony Aloisio said the support of Recycling Victoria’s Market Acceleration Program, led by Sustainability Victoria, was vital to the development and validation of the product.

“Developing new products using recycled materials is fundamental to implementing the Recycled First Policy, contributing to Victoria’s circular economy,” Mr Aloisio said.
