Resources for Educators

School Environment Education Directory (SEED)

The SEED program has been discontinued. SEED was a partnership project jointly funded by NEWRRG and NECMA, as  a one stop shop for teachers and environment staff to access hundreds of environment curriculum resources, and provided hands-on student environment days throughout the year. Several other organisations provide free access to waste and environment curriculum content, please links below.

ResourceSmart schools in your region

To help Victorian schools actively build sustainability into the fabric of everyday school and community life, ResourceSmart now has a consortia of service providers in each of the nine Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) regions.  The aim of resourceSmart schools is to:

  • minimise waste, save energy and water, promote biodiversity, and cut greenhouse gas emissions
  • integrate educational, environmental, social and economic outcomes and embed sustainability into the fabric of everyday school and community life.

ResourceSmart Schools is a free program offered by Sustainability Victoria that supports Victorian schools to embed sustainability across the school facilities, community and curriculum, while saving resources and money for the school. Schools join the program, then have access to an online portal (ResourceSmart Schools online), where they learn and practice ways to integrate sustainability.
